09/08/2014 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15363 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br /> EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR THE CITY'S <br /> PURCHASE OF 1606 MIDDLEFIELD ROAD, INCLUDING <br /> ACCEPTANCE OF THE PROPERTY <br /> WHEREAS, the City is deficient in Park space as identified in the General Plan; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the City has identified the opportunity to acquire certain real property <br /> adjacent to the Jardin de Ninos Park comprising Assessor Parcel No. 053-155-110 <br /> located at 1606 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, California, as more particularly <br /> described and depicted in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by <br /> reference ("Property"), to evaluate the potential use of the land for park purposes and <br /> influence and control development along Middlefield Road, an important pedestrian and <br /> vehicular corridor into Downtown Redwood City; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager is responsible for the administrative and <br /> operational functions of the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City's adopted Property Acquisition and Disposal Policy <br /> identifies the City Manager as the appropriate City representative to negotiate and <br /> execute land transfers; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City has determined that it is desirable and necessary to acquire <br /> the fee interest in and to the Property in order to evaluate its potential uses; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council in Closed Session on July 28, 2014, authorized the <br /> City Manager to negotiate and execute an agreement for the acquisition of the Property <br /> at 1606 Middlefield Road; and <br /> ATTY/RES0.3010/CC RESO AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER RE50.#15363 <br /> TO EXECUTE ALL DUCMENTS RELATED TO 1606 MIDDLEFIELD RD MUFF#609 <br /> REV:09-04-14 VR <br />
