at the employee's straight-time rate of pay in lieu of one or both of the administrative holidays at <br /> eight(8) hours per administrative holiday calculated on the basis of an eight(8) hour day. In the <br /> event that one or both of the administrative holidays are not used by the last pay period paid in <br /> the year (based on the preceding 26 pay periods), payment will be made no later than the first <br /> pay period in February. <br /> 14.20 Weekend Holidays <br /> When any of the holidays listed in 14.19.1 above fall on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered <br /> the holiday. When any of these holidays fall on Saturday, the proceeding Friday shall be considered the <br /> holiday. <br /> 14.21 Work on a Holiday <br /> A COA unit member listed in 14.19.1 above, who is required to work on any of the holidays listed in Section <br /> 14.19.1 above, shall receive instead a paid day off on the workday either preceding or following the holiday <br /> as determined by the Fire Chief. <br /> 14.22 Holiday During Vacation <br /> In the event any of the holidays specified in Section 14.19.1 above occurs while an employee is on vacation <br /> or sick leave,the holiday shall not be charged as vacation or sick leave. <br /> 14.23 Deferred Compensation <br /> The City shall contribute an amount equal to two percent (2%) of base monthly salary to a deferred <br /> compensation plan offered by the City. <br /> Employees on no-pay status will have this amount prorated based on total number of hours of no-pay status <br /> during the pay period. <br /> ARTICLE 15 <br /> HOURS OF WORK <br /> The regular workweek shall be forty (40) hours per week. The regular workweek for Battalion Chief on a shift <br /> schedule shall be fifty-six(56)hours per week. <br /> ARTICLE 16 <br /> LEAVE PROVISIONS <br /> 16.1 Sick Leave <br /> 16.1.1 Sick leave with pay shall be granted to all regular full-time employees at the rate of one (1) <br /> working day for each full calendar month of service from the commencement of their employment <br /> with the City. Battalion Chiefs assigned to a forty (40) hour schedule after working a fifty-six(56) <br /> hour schedule may retain the fifty-six (56) hour sick leave bank and accrual rate, provided that <br /> sick leave taken on the forty (40) hour work schedule will be charged to the employee's sick <br /> 17 <br />
