contribution (eight percent (8%) for Tier 1 employees and seven percent (7%) for Tier 2 employees), in <br /> addition to cost sharing described herein. <br /> Effective the first full pay period on or after July 1, 2016, or upon the 2016 amendment of the City's contract <br /> with CaIPERS to reduce EPMC, whichever is later, the salary schedule for all classifications represented by <br /> RCMEA will be increased by three percent(3%). <br /> The City shall pay the rate prescribed by the Public Employees' Retirement System for employer <br /> contributions to the Public Employees' Retirement System in accordance with the rules and regulations <br /> governing such employer contributions. <br /> 15.3 Employee Cost Sharing of Employer Contribution to Pension <br /> In accordance with Section 20516(f)of the Government Code: <br /> Effective the first full pay period following July 1, 2014, in accordance with Section 20516(f)of the California <br /> Government Code,each unit member shall pay two percent(2%)of base salary toward the employer cost of <br /> retirement. <br /> Effective the first full pay period on or after October 1, 2014, each unit member shall pay an additional two <br /> and one-half percent(2.5%) of base salary toward the employer cost of retirement (a total of four and one- <br /> half percent (4.5%) employee cost sharing of City's pension contribution) in accordance with Section <br /> 20516(f)of the California Government Code. <br /> Effective the first full pay period on or after October 1, 2014, the salary schedule for all classifications <br /> represented by RCMEA will be increased by two and one-half percent(2.5%). <br /> Effective the first full pay period on or after October 1, 2015, each unit member shall pay an additional two <br /> and one-half percent(2.5% ) of base salary toward the employer cost of retirement(a total of seven percent <br /> (7%) employee cost sharing of city's pension contribution) in accordance with Section 20516(f) of the <br /> California Government Code. <br /> Effective the first full pay period on or after October 1, 2015, the salary schedule for all classifications <br /> represented by RCMEA will be increased by two and one-half percent(2.5%). <br /> All such employee contributions toward employer cost of retirement will be made on a pre-tax basis in <br /> accordance with Section 414(h)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code. The contributions shall not be credited to <br /> the employee account at CaIPERS and shall not be reimbursed to the contributor by the City at any time for <br /> any reason. <br /> 15.4 Reopener <br /> If any court of competent jurisdiction or legislative change requires additional member contributions above <br /> those provided for in the MOU, the parties shall reopen the agreement for purposes of meeting and <br /> conferring about applying the amount of member payment of the employer contribution to CaIPERS (cost <br /> sharing)to member contributions. <br /> 11 <br />
