WHEREAS, the Council finds that funding the City’s 2015 calendar year <br />participation in the Program provides the public benefit of increasing residents’ <br />participation in the Program and greatly aids in the expanded recycling and <br />proper disposal of household hazardous waste, universal waste, e-scrap and <br />sharps in the City. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct in all <br />respects. <br />SECTION 2. The City Manager of the City of Redwood City is authorized <br />to complete the South Bayside Waste Management Authority’s (SBWMA) <br />Application to Participate in SBWMA’s Door-To-Door Household Hazardous <br />Waste, Universal Waste, Electronic Scrap, and Sharps Collection, Recycling and <br />Disposal Services Program (Program), and for the City of Redwood City to <br />participate in the Program; <br /> SECTION 3. The City Manager is authorized to fund the City of Redwood <br />City’s 2015 calendar year participation in the Program by utilizing funds from the <br />City’s Trash Rate Stabilization Account, which serves the public purpose of <br />increasing residents’ participation in the Program and aiding in greater recycling <br />and proper disposal of household hazardous waste, universal waste, e-scrap and <br />sharps in the City. <br />SECTION 4.
