I. . . . I . ]I .1
I. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
----
A. Gail Martini and Cheryl Nelson of the Tri-County Apartment Association
described the new Industry Standards Program designed to provide and promote quality
rental housing, and distributed brochures and information reports: the Program has
nine standards that members will be asked to observe. There will be a press conference
on January 20, 1995, to announce the program that will encourage partnerships between
rental property owners, tenants and all organizations interested in addressing housing
needs in Redwood City. Councilwoman Howard asked for additional literature for the
Housing and Human Concerns Committee members. (209)
MEMO 1/17/95
B. John Mooney, 980 Pleasant Hill Road, member of the Redwood City Optimist Club
invited everyone to the crab cioppino dinner at St. Pius Church on February 18, 1995,
benefiting local high schools. It is an all you can eat dinner and the cost is $30.00.
Mr. Mooney requested further disclosure regarding the City's investments in the
Orange County investment pool that went into bankruptcy. Mayor Gasparini explained
that a very small amount of money set aside for long term investment would be tied up
for a while until the payment plans could be worked out, but that neither the City nor
the Agency would lose any money in the long term.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
~
2.
