All staff supported through the Healthy Schools grant will share in the responsibilities for attaining the goals and <br /> objectives outlined in the program proposal. Input from relevant staff will be sought in the implementation and <br /> evaluation of this program. <br /> VI. Distribution of Functions <br /> CITY's PE Coordinator and coaches will work with appropriate school staff to implement and support specific <br /> modules of the PE+Program.The following staff positions and distribution of roles and responsibilities are outlined <br /> below: <br /> CITY PE+ Coordinator.•The PE Coordinator supported through this grant will organize, implement,and <br /> provide on-site supervision of the PE+program. This person is responsible for hiring,training,scheduling, <br /> supervising,and evaluating PE coaches and necessary pe�sonnel to ensure successful implementation of a <br /> safe and effective program. The PE Coordinator is also responsible for meeting with school administrators, <br /> teachers, partner organizations,and othe�s as necessary to properly represent the CITY and the Program. <br /> The PE+Coordinator will also be held responsible for the development, implementation,evaluation,and <br /> reporting of Program curriculum and results. <br /> CITY PE+Coaches:The parties understand that CITY's physical education coaches will work on site during <br /> regular school hours and under the direction of RCSD credentialed teachers. Physical education coaches <br /> help children develop physical abilities and healthy habits that can last for the rest of their lives.The PE <br /> coaches supported through this grant will organize games and challenges that promote physical activity <br /> among children in grades K-5.Their goal is to develop motor skills and physical development among <br /> younger children and proper exercise and eating habits among older children. PE teachers must also adjust <br /> their curricula to adapt to children with disabilities or different physical abilities.The PE coaches will be <br /> knowledgeable about all activities provided to the children, be able to communicate and demonstrate skills <br /> properly,observe all their students and maintain discipline within the class. In addition to students,they <br /> interact with parents,other teachers and school administrators. There will be four coaches per at each <br /> school site when classes are taught; 1 head coach and 1 assistant coach. Coaches work no more than 25 <br /> hours per week(approx.5 hours/day). Head coach works no more than 27 hours per week(approx.5.5 <br /> hours/day) <br /> VII. Budget and Distribution of Funding <br /> Grant Purpose: SHD has agreed to provide grant funds to CITY which will use such funds to hire qualified staff <br /> listed above, provide program training to staff,and cover costs of equipment and miscellaneous supplies related to <br /> the education, instruction,and promotion of the PE+program. CIN shall hire sufficient coaches(up to 12)to provide <br /> the PE Plus program to four schools with staffing in accordance with CITY's proposal. <br /> Distribution of Funding: Sequoia Healthcare District will distribute SHD funding contribution and Redwood City <br /> School District funding contribution towards PE+in the following payment plan: The first payment will consist of the <br /> first half of the Sequoia Healthcare District contribution. The first half of the Redwood City School District contribution <br /> will be provided after receipt of payment to SHD by RCSD, under a separate financial agreement between SHD and <br /> RCSD. The second payment will consist of the second half of the SHD contribution plus the second half of the <br /> Redwood City School District contribution, provided that SHD has received the funds from RCSD. <br /> Memorandum of Understanding <br /> Sequoia Healthcare District/Redwood City Parks,Recreation,and Community Services <br /> Healthy Schools Initiative 2014-2015 <br /> 4 <br />
