l S <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF JUNE 8 , 1977 <br /> The regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission was called to <br /> order by Chairman Schlesinger at 7 : 49 p . m . , in Conference Room 1 of the <br /> Community Activities Building , 1400 Roosevelt Avenue , Redwood City . <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT : Commissioners Anderson , Buckhout , Knecht and <br /> Schlesinger <br /> MEMBERS ABSENT : Commissioners Hayes , Pound and Weintraub <br /> STAFF PRESENT : Recreation Superintendent Paulson <br /> CITIZENS PRESENT : Chuck Follansbee , Sequoia Gem & Mineral Society <br /> Brooke Thrasher , Sequoia Gem & Mineral Society <br /> Joan Cutler , Carlmont Student <br /> Dawn Cutler , Carlmont Student <br /> Kyle Hoover , Carlmont Student <br /> MOTION : Commissioner Knecht moved to accept the minutes <br /> of the May 11 , 1977 , Regular Business Meeting , <br /> seconded by Commissioner Anderson . The motion <br /> carried unanimously by voice vote . <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Mr . Paulson informed the Commission that the Mid Peninsula Open Space <br /> District would be making a presentation before the Council at their June <br /> 13 , 1977 , meeting in order to review the draft of the Master Plan for <br /> Open Space . The Commissioners were invited to attend this meeting . Dis - <br /> cussion ensued as to the efforts of Redwood City to withdraw from the <br /> Mid Peninsula Open Space District . <br /> The Commissioners and staff received at the meeting the Draft Human Ser- <br /> vices Element of the General Plan from the Planning Commission . The <br /> Planning Commission has asked that the Parks & Recreation Commissioners <br /> review the packet and discuss it at their July meeting , so that the Plan- <br /> ning Commission can review the comments and recommendations at their <br /> August 2 , 1977 meeting . <br /> Chairman Schlesinger welcomed those that were present in the audience . <br /> - 1 - <br />
