RECREATION DIVISION MONTHLY REPORT <br /> AUGUST 1977 <br /> SPORTS & AQUATICS <br /> Adult Softball <br /> The month of August saw the Adult Softball League come to its ending . <br /> A total of 117 teams participated this past season in the league . <br /> Overall , it was a very successful season . On August 24 , there was an <br /> evaluation meeting held with some of the managers and groundwork for <br /> next season was also started . <br /> Soccer <br /> On August 25 , there was an organizational meeting held with the various <br /> soccer groups that utilize our facilities . This season there will be <br /> 43 youth teams and 4 adult teams playing soccer in Redwood City . <br /> Aquatics <br /> During the month of August the last session of swimming instruction <br /> concluded at both Hoover and Community Pool . A total of 593 patrons <br /> participated in lessons at Hoover with a total of 1094 patrons par- <br /> ticipating in lessons at Community for a grand total of 1687 citizens <br /> participating in the Redwood City swimming program. <br /> Both pools have remained open daily for recreation swim . Community <br /> Pool will close for the season after Labor Day , but Hoover will remain <br /> open on weekends during September. The past season , we initiated <br /> adult swimming only from 12 : 30- 1 : 00 p . m . We ' ve received many compliments <br /> about the program and will continue it in the future . <br /> -15- <br />
