8.A. - Page 43 <br /> Section 1: Purpose and Authority of Initial Study <br /> occur. This Initial Study addresses the assessment of potential environmental impacts resulting from the <br /> long -term effects of potential development facilitated by the Housing Element in accordance with the City's <br /> existing land use policies. No changes to land use policy related to density or intensity are proposed. The <br /> purpose of the environmental assessment is to determine whether there are any impacts that could occur <br /> as an indirect result of the proposed Housing Element strategies that were not examined in the General <br /> Plan EIR (2010) or if there could be impacts that are more severe than those anticipated in the EIR. The <br /> assessment focuses on the Opportunity Sites as the remainder of the Housing Element has been analyzed <br /> in previous iterations of the Housing Element or will not result in environmental impacts. <br /> 4 Redwood City Housing Element Initial Study <br />
