In order to enhance <br /> neighborhood character, a number of onsite improvements are <br /> required, including the undergrounding of utilities and <br /> upgrading of infrastructure such as sidewalks and alleyways. <br /> These requirements can add substantial additional cost to <br /> affordable housing projects. <br /> Objectives: <br /> • Continue to exempt affordable housing projects from the <br /> City's park impact fee. <br /> • Consider developing an ordinance that exempts affordable <br /> housing projects from specific site improvements and other <br /> impact fees <br /> Explore options such as fee deferrals to discover the <br /> quantitative benefits to affordable housing and specific <br /> costs to the City. <br /> ■ Continue to offer an in-lieu fee for the undergrounding of <br /> utilities to projects that qualify.
