9.A. - Page 24 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY ADOPTING A CITY CAR SHARE PROGRAM <br /> WHEREAS, concurrently herewith, the City Council of Redwood City adopted an <br /> ordinance allowing for public parking spaces to be reserved for the exclusive use of car <br /> sharing vehicles. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. The following is hereby adopted as the City of Redwood City Car Share <br /> Program: <br /> 1. The purpose, goals and objectives of the Redwood City Car Share Program <br /> include supporting City mobility and sustainability and increasing access to City <br /> businesses and services while reducing single- occupancy vehicle trips. <br /> 2. The Redwood City Car Share Program shall be administered and enforced <br /> by the City Manager and his or her designee. Whenever this Resolution provides <br /> authorization or direction to the City Manager, the City Manager's designee shall have <br /> the same authorization and direction, as specified by the City Manager. <br /> 3. Definitions: <br /> A "Car Share Organization" or "CSO" is a public, private, or non - profit entity that provides <br /> preapproved members access to a network of at least ten (10) motor vehicles in the <br /> Counties of San Francisco, San Mateo, and /or Santa Clara. <br /> A "Car Share Vehicle" is a motor vehicle for which a Car Share Vehicle Parking Permit is <br /> issued by the City that authorizes that specific vehicle to park in a designated Car Share <br /> Parking Space. <br /> 4. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed as follows: <br /> A. To establish and designate by signage, Car Share Parking only spaces <br /> for Car Share Vehicles on any street or right of way within the City and /or <br /> also within any off - street parking facility owned or operated by the City. <br /> Car Share spaces shall be indicated by signage in compliance with the <br /> California Vehicle Code. <br /> B.
