Page 6 of 6 9.A. - Page 34
As with the utilization analysis, duration and turnover statistics from updated data collections can
be compared with prior data to analyze the impact and effectiveness of new policies on parking
behavior, particularly in the core.
3. Comparisons to Previous Data Collection Periods /Potential
Recommendations
Data collection information from previous collection periods would be summarized and highlight
occurring parking trends. In this section, comparisons to previous data collection points would be
calculated, in terms of percentage and absolute changes for occupancy, duration, and turnover;
these comparisons are key components of evaluating if or how parking behavior has been modified
as a result of changes to parking regulations and policies in the City.
Potential recommendations in terms of changes to meter operating hours, pricing, or other policies
could also be suggested based on the data collection, particularly if it becomes evident through the
data and other platforms that policy changes are not effectively modifying parking behavior to meet
the City's goals.
