11/17/2014 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15381 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY ADOPTING AN ELECTRIC-CHARGING PARKING PROGRAM <br /> WHEREAS, concurrently herewith, the City Council of Redwood City adopted an <br /> ordinance allowing for public parking spaces to be reserved for the exclusive use of <br /> electric-charging vehicles. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. The following is hereby adopted as the City of Redwood City Electric- <br /> Charging Program: <br /> 1. The purpose, goals and objectives of the Redwood City Electric-Charging <br /> Program include supporting City sustainability goals. <br /> 2. The Redwood City Electric-Charging Program shall be administered and <br /> enforced by the City Manager and his or her designee. Whenever this Resolution <br /> provides authorization or direction to the City Manager, the City Manager's designee <br /> shall have the same authorization and direction, as specified by the City Manager. <br /> 3. Definitions: <br /> An "electric vehicle" means a plug-in electric vehicle, including an exclusively electric <br /> vehicle ("EV") and a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle ("'PHEV"). <br /> An "EV" means a motor vehicle exclusively powered by an electric propulsion system. <br /> A "PHEV" means a motor vehicle primarily powered by an electric propulsion system <br /> and secondarily by an internal combustion system, which powers the electric propulsion <br /> system when the on-board source of electricity is depleted or discharged. <br /> 4.
