` t � � <br /> �� <br /> PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF JULY 12, 1978 <br /> The regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Conmission was called to <br /> order by Vice-Chairman Anderson at 7:44 p.m. , in Room 1 of the Corronunity <br /> Activities Suilding, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City. <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Commissioners Anderson, Castle, Hayes, Pound <br /> (Comnissioner Weintraub arrived at 8:30 p.m.) <br /> MEMBERS ABSENT: Commissioners Knecht, Schlesinger, Weintraub <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Max C. Weeks, Parks & Recreation Director <br /> MOTION: Commissioner Pound moved, seconded by Corrmissioner <br /> ; Hayes, to accept the minutes of the June 14, 1978, <br /> Regular Business Meeting. The motion passed unani- <br /> mously by voice vote. <br /> AGENDA ITEM 1 . Election of Officers <br /> Vice-Chairman Anderson indicated his preference to postpone this agenda <br /> item to the August meeting. It was the consensus of the Ca►rnnission to <br /> do so. <br /> AGENDA ITEM 2. Transfer of 1976 Park Bond Funds <br /> Vice-Chairman Anderson indicated that Comnissioner Weintrawb would be <br /> delayed in arriving, but wishes to take part in the agenda discussion. <br /> This item was held to later in the meeting. <br /> AGENDA ITEM 3 Review of Comnittee Assignments <br /> This agenda item was held over to the August Commission meeting when the <br /> Election of Officers would be held. <br /> REPORTS <br /> REPORT ITEM 1 . Operational Policy Committee <br /> Mr. Weeks indicated the Operational Policy Comnittee met on June 29, 1978, <br /> to discuss the street tree program and to set up new policies and opera- <br /> tional practices for the Department in wake of the passage of Proposition <br /> 13. It is the Department's intention to reduce the work order system and <br /> turn to an area pruning system. Mr. Weeks indicated the degree of trim- <br /> ming and pruning would be lessened with the area pruning system, but that <br /> . -1- <br />
