RECREATION DIVISION MONTHLY REPORT
AUGUST 1978
CENTER OPERATIONS & SPECIAL INTERESTS
Room reservations at both the Veteran's Building and the Community
Activities Building have increased considerably during the last month
since the decision was made to remain open on weekends. Staff reduc-
tions at the Veterans Building have created a substantial load of work
for the remaining clerical and supervisory staff and there have been
numerous times when the building has been totally unstaffed. Attempts
are beinq made to resolve this problem and hopefully by mid-September
things should improve.
United Airlines has opened the play "No Sex Please, 6Je're British" in
the Little Theater beginning August 25 and it will run through September
23, 1978.
R.C.C.T. did "My Fair Lay" at Canada College during the month of August
and received good reviews.
In cooperation with the Downtown Perchants Association, San Mateo County
Arts Council and the Civic Cultural Commission, two Operalunch perfor-
mances were given downtown on August 18 and 25. Attendance was sparse.
Fall Recreation Schedule - Schedule will be delivered to residents
through the Ad-Visor on September 6, and mail-in registration will begin
on September 7. A full load of self-supporting classes will be offered.
-11-
