He indicated that the sessions were extremely well -organized and highly informative . AGENDA ITEM 3 . Plans for " Youth in Government Day " , April 7 , 1 976 Mr . Weeks reminded the Commission that the Annual Youth in Government Day would be held Wednesday , April 7 , Information regarding who would be involved , the activities , and specific timing would be forthcoming . He encouraged all commissioners who were able to attend an orientation meeting which would be held in the Department beginning at 9 : 00 A . M . This would allow the Commissioners a chance to talk with the students prior to attending the mock Council meeting . REPORTS REPORT ITEM 1 . Budget Committee Report Mr . Weeks reported that the Capital Improvement Program for Fiscal Year 1976 -77 had been submitted in compliance with the priorities as recommended by the Commission . Mr . Weeks indicated that budget hearings with respect to the Capital Improvement Program would probably not be held until early April . MOTION : Commissioner Wilson moved to accept the Budget Committee Report seconded by Commissioner Rollins . The motion passed unanimously by voice vote . REPORT ITEM 2 . Operational Policy Committee Report MOTION : Commissioner Rollins moved to accept the Operational Policy Committee Report , seconded by Commissioner Schlesinger . The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . REPORT ITEM 3 . Monthly Reports A . DEPARTMENT REPORTS Mr . Weeks indicated that he had been contacted by the Bay Conservation and Development Commission with respect to Redwood Shores park development , and that he and the Director of Public Works would be attending an informal , administrative hearing regarding this subject . He further indicated that he anticipated no problems with BCDC and that the preliminary plans should be before the City Council by March 22 . Mr . Weeks also reported that 17 bids have been received for the Belmont Elementary School site project , and that the low bid had been almost half of the engineer ' s estimate . He further indicated that work should be under way by late April . - 3 -
