8.C. - Page 14 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 14-18 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY <br /> COUNCIL DESIGNATE 823 BLANDFORD BOULEVARD A <br /> HISTORIC LANDMARK AND APPROVE A HISTORIC <br /> PRESERVATION AGREEMENT <br /> WHEREAS, on August 14, 2014, the Historic Resources Advisory <br /> Committee considered and recommended that the residence and property <br /> located at 823 Blandford Boulevard, Redwood City, California be designated a <br /> Historic Landmark; and <br /> WHEREAS, on August 14, 2014, the Historic Resources Advisory <br /> Committee considered and recommended that a Historic Property Preservation <br /> Agreement (also known as a Mills Act Contract) with Tamara and Kenneth <br /> Nurisso (collectively, Applicant) be approved for 823 Blandford Boulevard; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Historic Resources Advisory Committee has determined <br /> that said property meets the criteria for designation as an historic landmark <br /> according to the historic designation criteria established by the Redwood City <br /> Historic Preservation Ordinance (Chapter 40 of the Redwood City Code); and <br /> WHEREAS, on October 7, 2014, the Planning Commission held a duly <br /> noticed public hearing and considered public comments, the application and <br /> report from the applicant and owner of the subject property, the recommendation <br /> of the Historic Resources Advisory Committee, and staff reports; and <br /> WHEREAS, the residence and property located at 823 Blandford <br /> Boulevard, Redwood City, California does meet the historic designation criteria <br /> established by the Redwood City Historic Preservation Ordinance as follows: <br /> It exemplifies or reflects special elements of the City's cultural, aesthetic <br /> or architectural history. <br /> It embodies distinctive characteristics of a style, type, period or method of <br /> construction, or is a valuable example of the use of indigenous materials <br /> or craftsmanship. <br /> WHEREAS, said property and applicant do qualify for a Historic <br /> Preservation Agreement; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Redwood City and the <br /> residents therein, that said property be designated a Historic Landmark and that <br /> a preservation agreement be approved to assist in the restoration and <br /> preservation of such property. <br /> ATTY/RESO.3028/PC RESO RECOMMENDING HISTORIC LANDMARK 823 BLANDFORD BLVD <br /> REV:09-18-14 VR <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br />
