Also address integrity.)
The property is a good example of the Spanish Colonial Revival style which was popular in California from 1915 to 1940. The
building features many of the signature features of the style, such as low-pitches roofs, eves with little or no overhangs, multilevel
roofs,towers,tile roofs,wood balconies with roofs,covered porches, exteriors stairs,decorative tiles, stucco walls,and a large
arched focal window. The owner was Marie J. Buschke who lived with her husband Adolph at 3039 Broadway where they
managed the Jansing Apartments at 100 and 150 Duane Street. The designer Fridell signed the plans as"Arch Del"and there is no
firm name or address on the plans(which are low resolution on microfilm).Archival research did not uncover any information
about Fridell or other works he may have designed. However, the building a well balanced design and shows considerable skill in
working with the Spanish Colonial Revival style. The building is located within the original Dingee Park subdivision launched in
1909 which was renamed and marketed under different names over the years. The building appears to be eligible for the California
Register under criterion C.
B11. Additional Resource Attributes: (List attributes and codes)None
*B12.
