1 ^ <br /> CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> January 6 , 1977 Page 2 <br /> With respect to the proposed Arts and Crafts Show to be held <br /> downtown , Commissioner Kennedy reported that after having dis - <br /> cussed the event with Mrs . Sharon Blumenthal , Downtown Merchants <br /> Association , and Paula Beam , it was felt that May 6 , 7 , and 8 <br /> were the most desirable days for this event . <br /> It was announced that the Peninsula Hills Junior Women ' s Club <br /> Antique Show , to be held at the Community Activities Building , <br /> is scheduled for March 18 , 19 , and 20 , 1977 . <br /> AGENDA ITEM 2 -- Discussion of Proposed Combined Meeting with <br /> Parks & Recreation Commission - March 34 1977 : <br /> Mr . v eks indicated to the Commission that the Parks & Recreation <br /> Commission was desirous of having a combined meeting with the <br /> C . irLc Cultural Commission . This combined meeting would present <br /> an opportunity for both Commissions to discuss mutual interests <br /> as well as become better informed as to their respective responsi - <br /> bilities . Additionally , the possibilities of formulating joint <br /> projects for the future could be discussed . The Commission agreed <br /> to meet with the Parks & Recreation Commission on Thursday , <br /> March 3 , 1977 , This will constitute a regular meeting of the <br /> Civic Cultural Commission and a special meeting of the Parks & <br /> Recreation Commission . Mr . Weeks then indicated that he would <br /> transmit this information to the Parks & Recreation Commission <br /> at their meeting of January 12 . <br /> AGENDA ITEM 3 - Committee Schedulin : : <br /> Vice Chairman Krueger requested information concerning any sched - <br /> uled committee meetings which were found to be in conflict with <br /> other events . None was reported and therefore no additional co - <br /> ordination was needed . It was reported that the various committees <br /> had been meeting at mutually convenient times and progress was being <br /> made toward finalizing the necessary arrangements for the various <br /> coming events , <br /> REPORTS : <br /> Arts & Crafts Show <br /> Commissioner Kennedy reported that the Downtown. Merchants ' <br /> Association is discussing the possibility of holding an <br /> antique show in conjunction with the arts and crafts show . <br /> It is felt that this combination of activities would pro - <br /> vide a wide variety of interest to the citizenry and would <br /> result in greater participation . It was pointed out that <br /> there are many details yet to be resolved ; however , the <br /> committee working on this project will pursue the possi - <br /> bility of a combined activity , <br />
