CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION Minutes of Meeting February 5 , 1977 Chairman Marcia Poncia opened the meeting at 7 : 40 , p .m . , in the Conference Room of the Community Activities Building , 1400 Roosevelt Avenue , Redwood City. COMMISSIONERS PRESENT : Marcia Poncia , Chairman ; Zelda Bergman , Nicole McKay , Kay Mears , Alice Kennedy , and John Krueger STAFF PRESENT Max Weeks , Director of Parks & Recreation ; and Mayfred Dawson , Recording Secretary MOTION : The motion was made by Commissioner Krueger , seconded by Commissioner McKay , that the minutes of the meeting of January 6 be approved as submitted ° CORRESPONDENCE : An invitation to attend a reception on February 6 by the San Mateo County Arts Council at the Sun- dance Gallery , the San Mateo Arts Council Calendar , and a report from the Peninsula Celebration Association regarding the Bicentennial activities . AGENDA ITEM 1 Subjects Proposed for Discussion at Joint Meeting with the Parks & Recreation Commission on March 3 : 1 , Current and proposed projects for both Commissions 2 . Possible areas for joint effort AGENDA ITEM 2 - Scheduling of Calendar of Events : Mrs . Kennedy prebented the Redwood City Activities Calendar . Commission members were pleased with the calendar and expressed their appreciation of Mrs . Kennedy ' s efforts in developing it. Commissioner Bergman was excused from the meeting at 8 : 30 , p . m. AGENDA ITEM 3 . Scheduling: of Future Events : The Quilting Show has been scheduled for June 18 and 19 . REPORTS : 1 . Commissioner Bergman reported that the committee has decided to hold the Opera Lunch Program on the blocked - off section of Hamilton Avenue . This was agreeable to the Commission . Mr . Weeks will clear the dates with the San Mateo County Arts Council , probably to be in late spring . It was decided to call the pro - gram " Brown Bag Opera "
