Henderson , Sylvester McGuire , Martin F . Mohr , Eugene Moriguchi , and Frederick A . Soderer . MEMBERS ABSENT : Paul C . Keckley and Herbert G. Petersen . STAFF PRESENT : City Manager Fales , Assistant City Manager Smith , and Planning Director Schroeter . VISITORS : Councilman James Williams , 47 Bradshaw Terrace , Redwood City Maxim K . Rice , 1756 Broadway #8 , Redwood City Kathleen Mahany, 1026 Vera Avenue , Redwood City Dick Proctor , 1122 Hudson Street, Redwood City Steve Yaeger , 272 Hudson Street , Red.-wood City The meeting was called to order at 7 : 10 A . M. On motion duly made and seconded , the Minutes of the meeting of November 24 , 1971, were approved as mailed . The principal subject of the meeting was the review of the applications received for the position of Community Redevelopment and Housing Specialist . As of the closing date for the applications , 19 had been filed . City Manager Fales indicated that these 19 applications have been checked by the Personnel Department as to general conformity to the requirements of the Emergency Employment Act , but that they must be re-checked as to current status of unemployment or underemployment , San Mateo County residency , and military service . The eons.=.sus of the Committee was that the ineligible applicants should be screened out by the staff and that a sub -coth nittee of. the Housing Concerns Committee should process all of the remaining applications . The sub- committee would narrow the field down to between five and seven for consideration by the full Committee . Mr . Moriguchi commented that while he subscribed to this procedure, he felt that applicants , ' or others who may not have applied, who would be ineligible under EEA regulations should not be excluded from consideration should it prove that a well- qualified candidate is not found among those who are eligible . On motion duly made and seconded , a sub-committee consisting of Mrs . Henderson , Mr . Floyd , and Mr . Gonzales was appointed unanimously by the Committee to screen the applications . • City Manager Fales went through all of the applications, commenting on significant information about each . The Committee hoped that the screening could be accomplished by the first or second week in January in order that interviews by the full Committee could be begun on January 15 , 1972 .
