City of Redwood City <br /> Dear Committee r embers : <br /> Councilmenber Henderson has proposed the following action <br /> to your committee : <br /> " . . 0To request the Planning Commission to incorporate <br /> in the General Plan of Redwood Shores , as part of the General <br /> Plan revision process , a dousing Element component that will <br /> cower the following considerations : <br /> a. Statement of appropriate objectives to assure availability <br /> of housing with a sufficient distribution of types , sizes , <br /> and ' costs , in order to insure , as far as possible , ultimate <br /> economic , social , and cultural balance in the community . <br /> b . An action program to carry out these objectives . <br /> c . Appl icabi l ,ity of these objectives and the action program <br /> to the ba l cnc e of Redwood City . ' <br /> We the undersigned members and friends of the South San <br /> Mateo County Joint Strategy and Action Committee believe <br /> that approval of this action by the l iCC would be an initial <br /> step toward a sound housing policy for Redwood Shores and <br /> the entire citu which will provide for adequate low and mod- <br /> erate income housing for our citizens according to Redwood <br /> City ' s fair share .
