MINUTES September 12 ,. 1973 <br /> HOUSING CONCERNS COMMITTEE 7 : 00 A . M . <br /> COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES BUILDING REDWOOD CITY <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT : Mayor Keck ley , Vice Mayor Henderson , Councilman <br /> Norris , Rev . Bimson , Elise Johnson , Fred Soderer , <br /> Eugene Moriguchi . <br /> MEMBERS ABSENT : Melvin Kerwin . <br /> STAFF PRESENT : Mike Riback , Ken Schroeter , and Dick Rivas <br /> Charles Gyselbrecht , Chief Building Official , was absent due to his <br /> mandatory appearance at a meeting of California Building Officials <br /> in Sacramento , Therefore , the Committee deferred discussion of the <br /> proposed program for housing code compliance upon resale of residen- <br /> tial buildings until its next meeting . <br /> The Committee adopted Action 1 of Goal III . <br /> Then Committee Member Fred Soderer made his presentation upon the <br /> proposed Action 2 to Goal III . The Committee discussed and then <br /> adopted the Action which reads as follows : <br /> "The City would establish a policy of land use planning and <br /> corresponding zoning ordinance regulations to encourage vari- <br /> ety and mix in residential development so as to provide a <br /> reasonable choice of locations within the City for persons <br /> at all income levels , " <br /> Deputy City Attorney Mike Riback discussed the present status of the <br /> Palo Alto property owners and managers licensing ordinance . The <br /> status of the action is such that any action on the part of Redwood <br /> City to file an Amicus Curiae at this time would be premature . <br /> Discussion was then held on Action 2 , Sub- goal II , Goal II . The Com- <br /> mittee adopted the Action which reads as follows : <br /> "The City would establish a program of land acquisition for <br /> the purpose of holding , leasing , selling to non-profit spon- <br /> sors for the development of low-to-moderate income housing . " <br /> There being no further business , it was moved by Mr . Moriguchi , duly <br /> seconded and carried to adjourn at 8 : 30 a . m . <br />
