� ' ORiGiN�L <br /> MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT <br /> BETWEEN KAISER PERMANENTE, REDWOOD CITY 2020, <br /> and THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY SERVING AS FISCAL AGENT FOR <br /> REDWOOD CITY 2020 <br /> FY 2014-2015 <br /> — <br /> This is a MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT, made and entered in this � day of <br /> , 2014, by and between the KAISER PERMANENTE, ("KAISER"), REDWOOD <br /> CI 2020 (a Community Collaborative that coordinates the delivery of services to children, <br /> youth and families living in the City of Redwood City and North Fair Oaks, an unincorporated <br /> area adjacent to Redwood City) and THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a charter city and <br /> municipal corporation of the State of California ("City") serving as fiscal agent for Redwood City <br /> 2020. <br /> WITNESSETH: <br /> WHEREAS, in 1995 the City of Redwood City, the Redwood City Elementary School <br /> District, the Sequoia High School District and the County of San Mateo formed Redwood City <br /> 2020 (then known as Redwood City 2000) to provide leadership and oversight necessary to <br /> develop a coordinated approach to strengthen academic and social outcomes for children and <br /> youth living within the attendance area of the Redwood City School District and provide valuable <br /> resources to families so they can be successful primary caregivers to their children, and; <br /> WHEREAS, each year, since the formation of Redwood City 2020, these original <br /> partners (the City, Redwood City School District, Sequoia High School District and San Mateo <br /> County) nave renewed the Redwood City 2020 partnership by formal agreement, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the public partners who formed Redwood City 2020 have now been joined <br /> by additional partners (John W. Gardner Center for Youth and Their Communities – Stanford <br /> University, Kaiser Permanente, Sequoia Healthcare District and First 5 San Mateo County) and; <br /> WHEREAS, all of these Parties desire to renew their Redwood City 2020 membership <br /> agreement for Fiscal Year 2014-2015 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, IN CONSIDERATION OF THE MUTUAL COVENANTS AND <br /> CONDITIONS CONTAINED HEREIN, THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. Pur ose. The Parties are entering into this formal partnership for the sole purpose of <br /> providing assistance to, and sustaining the work of Redwood City 2020. Redwood City 2020 <br /> exists for two major purposes: <br /> a. To provide a forum wherein representatives of partner entities can work <br /> together and with members of the private sector, business and the community at large to <br /> improve the quality of life in Redwood City for children, youth and families. <br /> b. To provide oversight and support to ongoing collaborative efforts and <br /> programs that are working toward Redwood City 2020's agreed upon outcomes <br /> (Community Schools in Redwood City School District, the Sequoia Teen Resource <br /> Center and Wellness Center, the Community Youth Development Initiative, and the <br /> Immigrant Integration Initiative). <br /> REV:11-06-14 MLG <br /> Page 1 of 8 <br /> ATTY/AGR.2014.241/Membership Agreement Kaiser 2014-2015 <br />
