7.1.C. - Page 5 <br /> Mayor Gee began the Public Hearings stating that there will be three Historic Landmark <br /> Designations and Historic Preservation Agreements, but Council will only receive one <br /> presentation from the Staff and then will discuss all three agreements. He added that <br /> Council will take three votes, one for each property agreement. <br /> Karen Vaughn, Principal Staff Planner in the Community Development Department, <br /> presented the City Council information on the process as to how a property receives a <br /> Historic Land Designation. She spoke about the Mills Act Contracts and the roles of the <br /> City and property owner, and how both parties can benefit from the agreements. In <br /> general there are 21 Mills Act Contracts that have been approved by the City Council, <br /> not including the ones tonight before Council. Ms. Vaughn briefly discussed each <br /> property mentioned on the agenda that included how the property owners will take care <br /> of their land. In conclusion, she mentioned that the property owners were in attendance <br /> should the City Council have any questions. <br /> There was no public comment. M/S Seybert /Aguirre to close the Public Hearing. By <br /> unanimous roll call vote, Council closed the Public hearing. <br /> One Council Member thanked the Historic Advisory Committee for its work on the <br /> research and development of this contract. She said that these agreements preserve <br /> the architecture and history of Redwood City's character. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Hold a public hearing and: <br /> 1. Adopt a resolution designating the structure located at 139 -143 Duane <br /> Street /3039 Broadway Street, Redwood City, California, an Historic <br /> Landmark, and <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15382 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY DESIGNATING 139 -143 DUANE STREET /3039 <br /> BROADWAY STREET AN HISTORIC LANDMARK <br /> 2. By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute and <br /> record an Historic Property Preservation Agreement for said property. <br /> M/S Seybert /Aguirre to adopt the resolution and authorize the City Manager to execute <br /> the agreement. Motion carried unanimously by electronic vote. <br /> MINUTE ORDER 14 -182 <br /> B.
