There was no public comment. M/S FoustJSeybert to close the Public Hearing. By <br /> unanimous roll call vote of those present, Council closed the Public hearing. <br /> Vice Mayor Foust commented on the City's unique historic resources offered to the <br /> community. She also said that the City actively encourages property owner to apply for <br /> the Mills Act Contracts, which is a tax advantage to the property owner and makes the <br /> City distinct from other cities in San Mateo County for recognizing the City's history. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Hold a public hearing and: <br /> 1. Adopt a resolution designating the structure at 802 Edgewood Road, <br /> Redwood City, California, an Historic Landmark, and <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15383 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY DESIGNATING 802 EDGEWOOD ROAD AN HISTORIC <br /> LANDMARK <br /> 2. By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute and <br /> record an Historic Property Preservation Agreement for said property. <br /> M/S Foust/Seybert to approve the item. Motion carried by electronic vote with <br /> Council Member Aguirre recused. MINUTE ORDER 14-183 <br /> Council Member Aguirre rejoined the dais. <br /> C. Consideration of Historic Landmark Designation and Historic <br /> Preservation Agreement (Mills Act Contract) for a single-family <br /> structure located at 823 Blandford Boulevard (APN 052-043-040) (612) <br /> Ms. Vaughn again provided background information about this specific property and the <br /> property owners' plans to update their property. <br /> One Council Member asked if the property owners stay in contact with staff if they plan <br /> any remodeling to ensure that the property is historically accurate. Ms. Vaughn <br /> answered that the property owners do meet with the Historic Resources Advisory <br /> Committee and that there are building inspections to monitor the modifications. <br /> The same Council Member added that in the agenda packet there is a segment in the <br /> staff report that speaks about the interesting history of this property. She said that she <br /> was proud that Redwood City has this available for the residents. <br /> There was no public comment.
