01/26/2015 <br /> ORIGINAL � <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15387 <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF STOP SIGNS: ON FERNSIDE <br /> STREET AT GOODWIN AVENUE, ON CARSON STREET AT FERNISIDE <br /> STREET, ON STERLING WAY AT FERNSIDE STREET, AND ON CHARTER <br /> AT STAMBAUGH <br /> WHEREAS, Section 2B.07, of the California Manual of Uniform Traffic Control <br /> Devices, states: <br /> Multi-Way Stop Applications <br /> Guidance - the following criteria should be considered in the engineering <br /> study for a multi-way stop sign installation: <br /> • The need to control vehicle/pedestrian conflicts near locations that generate high <br /> pedestrian volumes. <br /> WHEREAS, City staff's investigation has confirmed the existence of this <br /> condition at the subject site. <br /> WHEREAS, as the lead agency, City of Redwood City has determined that the <br /> installation of stop signs on Fernside Street at Goodwin Avenue, on Carson Street at <br /> Fernside Street, on Sterling Way at Fernside Street, the minor leg of the intersection, <br /> should be stopped at Fernside Street, and on Charter Street at Stambaugh meets the <br /> California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) exemption criteria as set forth in Section <br /> 15301, ("Existing Facilities"). <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> ATTY/RES0.3045/CC APPROVING STOP SIGNS ON RE50.#15387 <br /> FERNSIDE,CARSON,STERLING AND CHARTER MUFF#701 <br /> REV:01-15-15 VR <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
