children at Lucille Packard and Stanford Hospital and St. Dorothy's Sierra Camp for <br />terminally ill children. <br />Jonathan Lucas, a volunteer with the American Cancer Society and co -chair with the <br />Relay for Life in Redwood City on May 15 -16 at Sequoia High School, gave statistics <br />on cancer. He stated his purpose for appearing at the podium was to urge attendance <br />and support at the Relay for Life. The American Cancer Society is one of the only <br />volunteer driven National, State and Local organizations to fight cancer. The opening <br />ceremony is Saturday, May 15 at 10:00 a.m. with the luminaria at sunset in honor of <br />those who are fighting and those who have died fighting cancer. Council Member <br />Howard further urged support of the event. <br />M/S Hartnett/Howard to waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances <br />by title, adopt the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items. Item no. <br />6.1.1-1 was removed to be considered with agenda Item 8.A and item no. 6.2.A was <br />removed for separate discussion and consideration. The motion passed by a <br />unanimous roll call vote. <br />6.1 Section - Motions <br />A.
