3.0 Environmental Impact Checklist
• Increase in traffic would be substantial in relation to existing traffic load and capacity of
the roadway system;
• Increase in demand for future water supply that is not anticipated to be fully met by the
City's existing and future water supplies; and
• New development would occur in areas that may be subject to tidal inundations
associated with long-term sea-level rise.
As discussed through the IS, the project's impacts would be incremental and would not have
substantial contribution to these significant impacts. The project is Iocated on Kentfield Avenue
within a well-established residential neighborhood where there have been other sites with
buildings that have either been rehabilitated or demolished and replaced. This infill
development would not result in considerable effects to the environment, and therefore, would
have less-than-significant impacts on the quality of the environment with implementation of
applicable mitigation measures. The project would not contribute to the significant and
unavoidable impacts identified in the General PIan EIR. The project does not have impacts that
are individually limited,but cumulatively considerable.
c) Have environmental effects that will cause substantial adverse effects on human beings,
either directly or indirectly?
Less-than-Significant Impact. As described throughout the environmental checklist, the project
would not result in substantial environmental effects on human beings either during
construction or during long-term occupancy of the homes.Mitigation measures are identified in
this IS to reduce potentially significant impacts related to aesthetics, air quality, biological
resources, cultural resources, geology and soils, hazard and hazardous materials, hydrology
and water quality, and noise.Implementation of these mitigation measures would ensure that
the project would not result in impacts that would cause substantial adverse effects on human
beings,either directly or indirectly.
La Palma Subdivision Project
Final Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration
67
