7.1.A. - Page 1 <br /> REPORT <br /> To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> From the City Manager <br /> March 9, 2015 <br /> SUBJECT <br /> Dates for City Council Consideration of the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Budget <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> By motion, approve the dates for City Council action on the FY 2015-16 budget. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Sections 51 and 51.5 of the Redwood City Charter require that the City Council <br /> establish the date of the budget presentation by the City Manager, and, by resolution, <br /> the date for budget public hearing and budget adoption. <br /> ANALYSIS <br /> The purpose of the recommended action is to formalize Council's approval of the <br /> following dates upon which budget related actions will occur: <br /> Budget Sent to Council Monday, June 1, 2015 <br /> City Council Budget Study Session Monday, June 8, 2015 <br /> Budget Adoption and Public Hearing Monday, June 22, 2015 <br /> A resolution setting the public hearing and the date for the budget adoption will be <br /> submitted prior to the budget being submitted to Council. <br /> ALTERNATIVES <br /> The dates provided in this report are recommended by the City Manager and may be <br /> changed at Council's discretion. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT <br /> There is no fiscal impact associated with approving the dates for budget related action. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br /> This activity is not a project under CEQA as defined in CEQA Guidelines, section <br /> 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or foreseeable physical <br /> change in the environment. <br />
