Update on the City Housing Program (301) <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Receive Report and Provide Input on the City's Housing Program. <br /> Dr. Bell, City Manager, provided some introductory remarks and outlined why this is <br /> before Council and how there is an opportunity to partner with Habitat for Humanity for <br /> Low Income Housing. He elaborated on the other items staff was going to present on. <br /> Mr. Aknin, Director of Community Development, spoke about the Housing Element and <br /> the three prong strategy that the City has taken on handling the housing challenge <br /> (presentation on file). This strategy includes an increase on overall supply of housing, <br /> "Stay in Place" Programs, and funding Affordable Housing.
