Letter of resignation from Planning Commissioner <br /> Tony Gonzales <br /> MOTION : Councilman Leipzig moved, seconded by <br /> Councilman Barrett that the Council accept with <br /> regret the resignation of Planning Commissioner <br /> Tony M. Gonzales . <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . <br /> (MINUTE ORDER NO. 75-152) <br /> 2. Letter from Elizabeth Hone, Menlo Park, re Sequoia <br /> School District Surplus School Site <br /> (See below) <br /> 3. Letter from San Mateo Union High School District <br /> re establishment of San Mateo County Committee on <br /> Computer Services <br /> g <br /> 4 There being no objection, Mayor Weymouth ordered <br /> the above two letters referred to staff. <br /> (Memo 8/5/75) <br /> Executive Session <br /> MOTION : Vice Mayor Williams moved, seconded by Council- <br /> man Leipzig, to adjourn to executive session. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . <br /> Elizabeth Hone, Menlo Park, one of the authors of the <br /> letter regarding Sequoia School District Surplus School <br /> Site (see above, Item No. 2 - Written Communications) <br /> arrived and requested permission to speak regarding the <br /> content of her letter which had been referred to staff. <br /> t Dr. Hone acknowledged that action could not be taken at <br /> this time, but called attention to certain aerial maps <br /> of the subject site and commented briefly on the sug- <br /> gested corridor from Stulsaft Park to Huddart Park and <br /> the desirability of retaining public ownership of the <br /> property in question. <br /> Isabel Sewell, Coordinator for Surplus School Sites, <br /> Loma Prieta chapter of the Sierra Club, and author of <br /> the letter with Dr. Hone, advised she had written many <br /> officials whose work might be related to acquiring the <br /> subject property for the suggested uses and urged that <br /> all governmental agencies involved work together to de- <br /> velop the park. Mrs . Sewall advised she has received <br /> some information regarding possible sources of funding <br /> from Director Rhodes of the State Department of Parks and <br /> Recreation which she would be pleased to share with staff. <br /> Assistant City Manager Smith advised that the request of <br /> Dr. Hone and Mrs . Sewell will have to be reviewed by the <br /> Park and Recreation Commission as well as by staff before <br /> being returned to Council so that it will require some <br /> time . Mr. Smith stated his office would make certain <br /> -6- <br /> 8/g M5g. <br /> 4/75 <br />
