Mayor Ray n Weymouth Redwood M I N U T E S <br /> Vice Mayor James $ Williams <br /> GBH Cellternle City Council <br /> Councilmen IonnOntlIefll of the <br /> Miry W Hrndcr on Rini„ <br /> Mary W ® City of Redwood City <br /> Community Activ3 ties Building <br /> Marguerite lriu �t August 11 ,Marguerite '� <br /> Robert E Norn <br /> William C Rhodos <br /> Adjourned Meeting <br /> The Council of the City of Redwood City met on this date <br /> at 4 :00 p.m. in an adjourned meeting from August 4, 1975, <br /> with Mayor Weymouth presiding over a joint meeting of the <br /> City Council and the Park and Recreation Commission, for <br /> a discussion of various matters of mutual interest. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Councilmen present : Barrett, Henderson, Leipzig (arrived <br /> at 4 : 10 p.m. ) , Rhodes, Williams and <br /> Mayor Weymouth <br /> Councilmen absent : Norris <br /> Park and Recreation <br /> Commissioners present : Knecht, Pound, Rollins, <br /> Schlesinger, Weintraub, Wilson <br /> Commissioners absent : Aldrich <br /> Staff present : Assistant City Manager Smith, City <br /> Attorney Schricker, Parks and Recreation <br /> Director Weeks, Deputy City Clerk Reggetts <br /> Discussion <br /> Mayor Weymouth called the meeting to order, and advised <br /> that it was the intention that the Commission and Council <br /> Members will proceed with the items suggested for dis- <br /> cussion, and endeavor to adjourn by 5:45 p.m. <br /> Review and Discussion of <br /> Long Range- Priorities for Park Development <br /> Mr. Knecht,, Chairman of the Park and Recreation Commission, <br /> opened the discussion, during which it was pointed out ' <br /> that much work has already been done in the process of <br /> deyeloping Canyon Park and Hetch-Hetchy right of way, as <br /> well as Stulsaft Park, and that the Commission was looking <br /> to Council for- direction, particularly with respect to I <br /> long-range prospects for adding to the park system. In <br /> the continuing discussion, it was indicated that Council <br /> recognized the basic problem this year was funding, and <br /> that in order to hold dowre-the tax rate, it has been <br /> necessary to reduce the budget for not only park develop- <br /> ment and acquisition, but in other departments as well. <br /> Adj .Mtg. <br /> w/P&R <br /> 8/11/75 <br />
