121 <br /> City Manager Fales referred to his report of August 22, <br /> 1975 indicating all necessary posting has been accom- <br /> plished, and the total cost of the program is $13, 177.68. <br /> City Clerk Hildebrand reported that she has on file in <br /> the Clerk' s office Affidavit of Publication of Notice of <br /> Hearing and that no written communications have been <br /> received on the subject. <br /> In response to Council question, Director of Public <br /> Works Pusich advised that the weed abatement program is <br /> in three stages : spraying, discing and hand cleanup. <br /> Discussion followed and Mr. Fales and Mr. Pusich replied <br /> to questions and commented concerning the difficulty of <br /> keeping vacant lots free of rubbish; the distinction <br /> between weed eradication and a continuing program of <br /> litter control; and the weather conditions which affect <br /> weed growth. <br /> Mayor Weymouth inyited anyone present who wished to <br /> speak to do so: No one in the audience wished to speak. <br /> MOTION: Councilman Henderson moved, seconded by Council- <br /> man Williams, to close the public hearing. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . <br /> The public hearing was closed at 7 :44 p.m. <br /> MOTION : Title having been read, Councilman Norris `in- <br /> troduced the following resolution and moved, seconded <br /> by Councilman Leipzig, its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 7470 CONFIRMING REPORT OF SUPERIN- <br /> TENDENT OF STREETS OF WEED ABATEMENT, OVERRULING <br /> PROTESTS' THERETO AND AUTHORIZING DELIVERY OF REPORT <br /> FOR THE ADDITION OF THE ASSESSMENT AMOUNTS TO NEXT <br /> REGULAR TAX BILLS AGAINST PARTICULAR PARCELS <br /> CONCERNED <br /> The resolution was adopted unanimously by roll call vote . <br /> El Camino Real Improvement Project <br /> Mayor Weymouth reminded Council that the informational <br /> public hearing is solely for the purpose of advising <br /> the public as to the status of the subject project, and, <br /> because of the time delay since the commencement of the <br /> project, to provide additional opportunity to describe <br /> the contemplated improvements. <br /> City Manager Fales referred to his reports of August 22 <br /> and August ,8, 1975. <br /> Director of Public Works Pusich commented on the history <br /> of the project, observing that three informational clinics <br /> and two official public hearings were held in November <br /> and December 1972 and that the adoption of the design <br /> known as "Alternate Improvement Plan No. Three" took <br /> place on December 18, 1972, with adoption reaffirmed on <br /> August 11, 1975.
