12 '7, <br /> In response to question, Mr. Fales advised that the <br /> question of taxation relating to the Lockheed Hughes <br /> barge and whether it is a research vessel and to be <br /> taxed at a low rate or a salvage vessel and to be <br /> taxed accordingly, is not expected to be settled in <br /> the near future . <br /> The ordinance was approved unanimously by voice vote. <br /> Waive bidding procedure - purchase <br /> eight police patrol vehicles <br /> City Manager Fales referred to his report of August 22, <br /> 1975 attaching report of the Acting Director of Buildings <br /> and Transportation. <br /> MOTION : Councilman Norris moved, seconded by Councilman <br /> Rhodes, to waive the bidding procedures per Section 2 .76 <br /> of the Municipal Code and, title having been read, intro- <br /> duced the following resolution for adoption : <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 7471 AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF <br /> GENERAL SERVICES OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO <br /> PURCHASE CERTAIN DESIGNATED VEHICLES <br /> The motion carried and :the resolution was adopted <br /> unanimously by roll call vote. (MINUTE ORDER NO. 75-159) <br /> Award of bid - exterior lighting and <br /> site improvements, Library <br /> City Manager Fales referred to his report of August 22, <br /> 1975 regarding exterior lighting and resigning of the <br /> City Library and attaching reports from the City <br /> Librarian dated August 18 and from the City Controller <br /> dated August 20. <br /> In response to question, Mr. Fales advised that improved <br /> and safer lighting of the Library entrance, better sign- <br /> ing and certain ramps for handicapped persons are included <br /> in the work proposed to be accomplished. <br /> MOTION : Titles having been read, Councilman Henderson <br /> introduced the following resolutions and moved, seconded <br /> by Councilman Norris, their adoption : <br /> RESOLUTION NO . 7472 APPROPRIATING $1,071 FROM THE <br /> ' ' UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF THE REVENUE SHARING FUND <br /> TO CAPITAL OUTLAYS, REVENUE SHARING FUND FOR THE <br /> LIBRARY ENTRANCE REMODELING PROJECT <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 7473 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR INSTALLA- <br /> TION OF WALKWAY LIGHTING AND RESIGNING AT, AND <br /> CONSTRUCTION OF AN ENTRANCE FOR, THE REDWOOD CITY <br /> LIBRARY; REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED; AND <br /> AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACT FOR SAID WORK <br /> The resolutions were adopted unanimously by roll call vote. <br /> -8- <br /> Reg.Mtg. <br /> 8/25/75 <br />
