1, 37" <br /> / 37 <br /> MOTION : Councilman Williams moved, seconded by Council- <br /> man Barrett, that the Mayor be authorized to communicate <br /> with Mayor John Apostol of Annapolis, Maryland, for the <br /> purpose of inviting that city to participate with Redwood <br /> City in the Bicentennial Sister City Program. <br /> Mr. Mitchell presented each Council member with a Redwood <br /> City Bicentennial pin and urged it be worn, particularly <br /> when Council members attend meetings outside the City. <br /> Mr. Mitchell also advised that the state has adopted the <br /> Redwood Tree as the "Liberty Tree " of the State of <br /> California and has asked that the entire nation recog- <br /> nize it. He advised further that the Redwood City Bi- <br /> centennial Committee will ask that Redwood City be <br /> designated the "Liberty Tree City" because of its <br /> association with the redwood tree . <br /> Mr. Mitchell also stated that Garrol G. Mace, Executive <br /> Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Greater <br /> Annapolis, Inc . favors the program and will be in the <br /> area soon for a visit . <br /> Mayor Weymouth thanked Mr. Mitchell for the pins and for <br /> all of the effort he has given to the Bicentennial Pro- <br /> gram on behalf of the City. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . <br /> (MINUTE ORDER NO. 75-171) <br /> Consent Calendar <br /> In response to request, Mayor Weymouth ordered that the <br /> item relating to an agreement for financing of economic <br /> consulting services for GID No. 1-64 be considered <br /> separately. <br /> MOTION : Title having been read, Councilman Williams in- <br /> troduced the following resolution and moved , seconded <br /> by Councilman Barrett, its adoption : <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 7483 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXE- <br /> CUTION OF AGREEMENT FOR FINANCING OF ECONOMIC <br /> CONSULTING SERVICES (GID NO. 1-64) <br /> Councilman Henderson stated for the record that she is <br /> opposed at this time to the study anticipated by the <br /> agreement because she prefers to complete the General <br /> Plan before commencing the study. <br /> The resolution was adopted on the following roll call vote : <br /> Ayes : Councilmen Barrett, Leipzig, Williams and <br /> Mayor Weymouth <br /> Noes : Councilmen Henderson and Rhodes <br /> In response to Council inquiry regarding the $2 .00 to <br /> $15.00/hour salary range referred to in the item relating <br /> to the position of recreation instructor, Director of <br /> -7- <br /> Reg.Mtg. <br /> 9/8/75 <br />
