152 <br /> Plans, special provisions and call for bids - <br /> Woodside Road Fence <br /> City Manager Fales referred to his report of September 19, 1975 <br /> relating to the Woodside Road Fence and attaching report from the <br /> Director of Public Works dated September 17 111 In response to question, Mr. Fales observed that there had been <br /> some question since the fence was constructed as to responsibility <br /> for its maintenance, and it is believed the only way to make cer- <br /> tain the fence is properly constructed and maintained is for the <br /> City to acquire the property, construct an appropriate fence and <br /> maintain it. <br /> MOTION Title having been read, Councilman Barrett introduced the <br /> following resolution and moved, seconded by Councilman Rhodes, its <br /> adoption <br /> RESOLUTION NO 7496 APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION <br /> OF WOODSIDE ROAD FENCE IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND <br /> AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS THEREFOR, and <br /> that while approval is being granted at this time to call for <br /> bids for the project, that it is the intent of Council to <br /> delay such advertising until title to the land containing <br /> the fence is cleared (MINUTE ORDER NO 75-184) <br /> The resolution was adopted unanimously by roll call vote <br /> Report re Hamilton Street relating to <br /> Downtown Improvement Project <br /> City Manager Fales referred to his report of September 19, 1975 <br /> regarding the proposed closures of a portion of Hamilton Street <br /> and attaching report from the Director of Public Works also dated <br /> September 19 Mr Fales called attention to drawings displayed <br /> on the wall depicting Hamilton as a closed street and as an open <br /> one and described the background leading to the recommendation <br /> now proposed by the Downtown Action Committee to close the street <br /> Deputy Director of Public Works-Engineering Sennewald referred to <br /> the drawings also, and described in detail the various options <br /> available and the potential savings to be realized, if the street <br /> is closed now <br /> MOTION Councilman Barrett moved, seconded by Councilman Leipzig, <br /> to approve in concept the closure of a portion of Hamilton Street. <br /> City Attorney Schricker advised that the matter need not come back <br /> to Council unless design approval is desired Mr Fales stated <br /> that it is presently planned to provide more details on the de- <br /> sign at the October 6 Council meeting. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote <br /> (MINUTE ORDER NO. 75-185) <br /> (The Council recessed from 9 35 to 9 48 p m ) <br /> -8- <br /> Reg Mtg. <br /> 9/22/75 <br />
