Letter from the City of South El Monte urging <br /> opposition to Senate Bill 95 re marijuana penalties <br /> There being no objection, Vice Mayor Williams <br /> ordered the subject letter referred to the <br /> Legislative Committee . (Memo 4/15/75) <br /> Oral Communications <br /> 1. Vice Mayor Williams called attention to the communi- <br /> cation dated April 7, 1975 from the "Committee for <br /> Natural Stulsaft, " delivered by Mrs. Helen de Wit, <br /> requesting that the Committee be granted one hour <br /> at a Council meeting in order to present their <br /> viewpoint. Vice Mayor Williams reported that the m"" <br /> City Manager and City Clerk have contacted Mrs . <br /> { de Wit and advised her and the Committee regarding *o+ <br /> the Manager' s intended recommendation of a delay <br /> in the start of the Stulsaft Park project in con- <br /> nection with his presentation of the 1975-76 <br /> Capital Improvement Budget. <br /> Vice Mayor Williams suggested that any presentation <br /> regarding the park would be premature at this time <br /> and advised that the Committee would be permitted <br /> to make a full presentation at a later, more appro- <br /> priate time . <br /> Peter Jackson, 930 Glennan Drive, member of the <br /> "Committee for Natural Stulsaft" urged the park be <br /> maintained in a natural state, suggesting such <br /> maintenance would be less expensive than the main- <br /> tenance of an improved park, thereby permitting <br /> purchase of additional open space with the funds <br /> thus saved. Mr. Jackson presented a "Petition for <br /> Natural Stulsaft" which he stated contained 496 <br /> signatures of Redwood City citizens. <br /> Adjournment .w, <br /> MOTION: Councilman Leipzig moved, seconded by Councilman ,,,,a <br /> Rhodes, to adjourn. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . <br /> The Council adjourned at 7 :57 p.m. <br /> JACQUELINE C.
