Mr. Ryan <br /> pointed out that the installation would be <br /> permanent and would allow the use of lights <br /> indefinitely in the future. <br /> M/S: Leipzig/Britschgi that the City <br /> contribute $3,000 to assist the Downtown <br /> Association in providing for the <br /> installation of electric wiring on Broadway <br /> so that Christmas lighting may be used <br /> there. <br /> Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 81-156 <br /> GENERAL <br /> 1. Councilman Chandler called attention to the letter of September 15, <br /> 1981 from Richard Claire, Chairman of the Planning Commission, <br /> requesting that representatives of that Commission be included in <br /> the Port/Council Committee, apparently believing that the new <br /> Committee will deal with land use. Councilman Chandler pointed out <br /> that the Joint Committee on Port Area Jurisdiction involves only <br /> the City Council and the Board of Port Commissioners. <br /> Mayor Biagi stated that the Planning Commission will be advised mai <br /> that the subject of Committee consideration is jurisdiction. <br /> City/Port Attorney Schricker agreed to so advise the Commission. <br /> (memo 9/22/81) rrnl <br /> 2. Mayor Biagi called attention to the letter of September 15, 1981 <br /> from Richard Claire, Chairman of the Planning Commission, <br /> requesting a joint meeting with the City Council soon. Following <br /> discussion, Mayor Biagi asked Planning Director Schroeter to ask <br /> the Commission if Tuesday, November 24 would be a convenient <br /> evening for that meeting. (memo 9/22/81) <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> M/S: Chandler/Leipzig to adjourn to executive session for the <br /> purpose of considering legal matters and to reconvene solely to <br /> adjourn. <br /> Carried unanimously by voice vote and Council adjourned to <br /> executive session at 8:30 p.m. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, Council adjourned at <br /> 9:40 p.m. <br /> JACQUELINE C.
