Q .r <br /> 8 0 <br /> POLICY DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION (continued) <br /> PERSONNEL SERVICES/LABOR RELATIONS <br /> In response to question, Mr. Ference said that the annual charge for woweii <br /> labor negotiations by I.E.D.A., the firm representing the City, is <br /> $34,000. Mr. Fales advised the contract renews automatically unless <br /> notice is given, observing that the firm also handles grievances, and <br /> many other labor matters during the year whether or not there are <br /> contract negotiations. He said that neither he nor other City personnel <br /> have the time to handle the matters handled by I.E.D.A., unless work for <br /> which they are responsible is neglected, and that Council can have a <br /> choice in the selection of the I.E.D.A. representative handling City <br /> affairs. <br /> M/S: Rhodes/Bury to instruct staff to bring in possible alternatives to <br /> the present labor negotiations team used by the City. <br /> Carried unanimously by voice vote.
