Street Lighting - California Energy Report of City Manager 3/6/81
Commission loan application and Report of Director of Public Works 3/5/81
related reports
In response to question, Director of Public
Works Addiego acknowledged that a condition
of the loan stipulates that conversions of
present street lights to low sodium vapor be
comparably sized which would result in a
lowering of the lighting intensity in most
cases, but that the City does not agree to
that condition and expects to be able to work
out details in the matter later.
City Manager Fales pointed out that the stip-
ulation is a regulation of the staff of the
Energy Commission and is not a part of the
Energy Conservation Assistance Act, so the
City may submit the application and take
exception to the stipulation.
Discussion followed and Mr. Fales commented
and replied to questions regarding the letter
proposed to be directed to various jurisdic-
tions seeking advice and assistance in a
possible application to the State Public
Utilities Commission for clarification of
street lighting rate schedules, lighting op-
tions and lighting system purchase costs.
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION TO Title read.
