(continued) In response to question with regard to any
possible uses of the greenhouse land if the
"Open Space" designation were retained, Mr.
Schroeter advised that the higher permitted
density of the adjoining parcels owned by the
same person could be combined with the subject
land for a cluster development yielding the
presently permited number of units on the
total property.
L. H. Bull, 407 Compass, inquired as to
whether the proposed development would have the
same assessment situation as Redwood Shores.
It was explained to Mr. Bull that no develop-
ment is before Council, only a change in the
General Plan, and that no general improvement
district is under consideration for the area.
Mayor Biagi invited anyone else present who
wished to speak to do so. No one wished to
speak.
M/S: Bury/Britschgi to close the public
hearing.
Carried unanimously and public hearing closed
at 7:50 p.m.
RESOLUTION AMENDING THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE Title read. M/S: Britschgi/Bury
CITY OF REDWOOD CITY TO CHANGE THE DESIG- mem
NATION OF CERTAIN LANDS THEREIN FROM RESOLUTION NO. 8646 adopted unanimously
"OPEN SPACE" TO "LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL" by roll call vote
2. Public Hearing - Application to amend the Planning Commission record transmitted 7/7/80
Zoning Map to rezone property at 1201
Redwood Avenue from "AG" (Agricultural- Mayor Biagi declared open at 7:56 p.m.
Greenhouse) District to "R-2" (Residential-
Duplex) Affidavits of Publication of Notice of
District - Scenic Land Properties,
Inc. Hearing and of Mailing declared on file.
Daniel Reidy, 703 Market Street, San Francisco,
legal representative and land planning consul-
tant for Scenic Land Properties, Inc., referred
to the memorandum from his client to the Plan-
ning Commission of July 17, 1980 urging approval
of the subject proposed zoning change. Mr.
Reidy described a prospective planned develop-
' ment for the area and responded to questions
relating to possible density.
L. H. Bull, 407 Compass, stated he is concerned
about traffic and the cost of police protection
for the area. It was explained that no de-
velopment plan is under consideration; that
Redwood City must provide police protection
for everyone within the City limits; and that
the subject property is in the City.
Discussion followed and Planning Director Nag i Schroeter commented and replied to questions
relating to possible density of future develop-
; ment; amount of open space which might be
Reg.Mtg.
7/28/80
Page 2
