WHEREAS , based on public comment received at the January 22 , 2015 HRAC
meeting , the City hired Page & Turnbull , a qualified firm listed on the City's list of
Qualified Historical Consultants, to prepare an analysis regarding potential impacts the
project may have on the Historic San Mateo County Courthouse located at 2200
B roadway Street and to peer review Mr. Brandi's report; and
WHEREAS , on March 26 , 2015 , the HRAC conducted a duly-noticed public
meeting , in accordance with all applicable requirements of State Law to review the
report (Exhibit A) prepared by Christina Dikas, Senior Architectural Historian with Page
& Turnbull , to determine whether the proposed Project would have an adverse impact
on the Historic San Mateo County Courthouse . The report concludes that, while the
scale of proposed project may be out of proportion with the Historic San Mateo County
Courthouse , the proposed project will not create a substantial adverse change to the
H istoric Courthouse, and the Historic Courthouse will remain eligible for listing in the
National Register of Historic Places.
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY T,--1E HISTORIC RESOURCES
ADVISORY COMMITTEE AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1 . The HRAC has reviewed the historian 's report and other associated
materials, and has determined that, while the associated Project will visually impact the
H istoric San Mateo County Courthouse primarily due to scale, the impact does not rise
to the threshold that would cause a substantial adverse change in the significance of the
Historic San Mateo County Courthouse, and the Historic Courthouse will remain eligible
for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
Section 2. This Resolution is effective upon its adoption .
Section 3. This Resolution , in conjunction with Resolution No . 15-01 , as adopted
by the HRAC on January 22 , 2015 , shall constitute the Committee's full
recommendation to the Planning Commission pertaining to the proposed Project.
* * *
Passed and adopted by the Historic Resources Advisory Committee of the City of
Redwood City at a Special Meeting thereof held on the 26th day of March , 2015 by the
following votes:
ATTY/RES0.3066/HRAC - 601 MARSHALL STREET
REV: 03-26-15 VR
