ORlGINAL <br /> MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT <br /> SAN MATEO COUNTY HEALTH SYSTEM, REDWOOD CITY 2020, <br /> and THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY SERVING AS FISCAL AGENT FOR <br /> REDWOOD CITY 2020 <br /> FY 20142015 <br /> his is a MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT, made and entered in this ? day of <br /> � by and between the SAN MATEO COUNTY HEALTH S STEM , a <br /> politi bdivision of'the State of California ("HEALTH SYSTEM") and REDWOOD CITY 2020 <br /> (a Community Collaborative that coordinates the delivery of services to children, youth and <br /> families living in the City of Redwood C�ty and North Fair Oaks, an unincorporated area adjacent <br /> to Redwood City) and THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a charter city and municipal corporation <br /> of the State of California("City") serv'ing as fiscal agent for Redwood City 2020. <br /> WITNESSETH: <br /> WHEREAS, in 1995 the City of Redwood City, the Redwood City Elementary School <br /> District, the Sequoia Union High School District and the County of San Mateo formed Redwood <br /> City 2020(then known as Redwood City 2000)to provide leadership and oversight necessary to <br /> develop a coordinated approach to strengthen academic and social outcomes for children and <br /> youth living within the attendance area of the Redwood City School District and provide valuable <br /> resources to families so they can be successful primary caregivers to their children, and; <br /> WHEREAS, each year, since the formation of Redwood City 2020,these original partners <br /> (the City, Redwood City School District, Sequoia Union High School District and San Mateo <br /> County) have renew�ed the Redwood City 2020 parfiiership by formal agreement, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the public partners who formed Redwood City 2020 have now been joined <br /> by additional partners (John W. Gardner Center for Youth and Their Communities — Stanford <br /> University, Kaiser Permanente, Sequoia Healthcare District and First 5 San Mateo Count� and; <br /> WHEREAS, all of these Parties desire to renew their Redwood City 2020 membership <br /> agreement for Fiscal Year 20142015 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, IN CONSIDERATION OF THE MUTUAL COVENANTS AND <br /> CONDITIONS CONTAINED HEREIN, THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. Purpose. The Parties are entering into this formal partnership for the sole purpose of <br /> providing assistance to,and sustaining the work of Redwood City 2020.Redwood City 2020 exists <br /> for finro major purposes: <br /> a. To provide a forum wherein representatives of partner entities can work <br /> together and with members of the private sector, business and the community at large to - <br /> improve the quality of life in Redwood City for children, youth and families. <br /> b.
