SPECIAL ORDER(S) OF THE DAY <br /> <br /> A. Recognition of Alberto Hidalgo-Robert (Redwood City author) - Jeffrey <br />Gee, Mayor <br /> <br />6. PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />Public comment is for items that are not on the agenda but that are within the subject <br />matter jurisdiction of the City Council. Please be advised that the Brown Act does not <br />allow the City Council to discuss matters not on the agenda because it does not give the <br />public adequate notice. Accordingly, the City Council and staff might provide brief <br />factual statements or ask clarifying questions or respond at a later time. <br /> <br />The time for public comment on this portion of the agenda is generally fifteen (15) <br />minutes. Regardless of the number of speakers, a speaker shall not exceed 3 minutes <br />but the time allotted might be less than 3 minutes when there are more than 5 speakers, <br />at the discretion of the Presiding Officer. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Items on the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one <br />motion and one vote. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL: Waive reading of the consent calendar and the full text of ordinances <br />and resolutions, and approve the Consent Calendar items. <br /> <br /> 1. Section - Motion(s) (Agenda packet page # 8) <br /> <br /> A. Award of Contract - Brewster Avenue Pedestrian Improvements Project <br /> <br /> Staff contact: Peter Delgado, Associate Civil Engineer 780-7373 <br />pdelgado@redwoodcity.org <br /> <br /> Recommendation: <br /> By motion: <br />1. Approve the contract documents and award the standard form <br />construction contract (Section 00520) for the Brewster Avenue Pedestrian <br />Improvements Project to Golden Bay Construction, Inc. of Hayward, for their <br />responsive and responsible low bid of $1,501,076 and authorize the City <br />Manager to increase the contract amount, if necessary, up to 10% above the <br />original contract amount. <br /> <br />2. Confirm the determination that the Project is exempt from the provisions <br />of CEQA. <br />
