7.4.A. - Page 3
ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD
CITY AMENDING DIVISION 2 OF ARTICLE VII OF CHAPTER 20 OF THE
CITY CODE OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO TOW-AWAY ZONES
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council adopts the following findings:
1. The Redwood City Kiwanis Club previously conducted the Kiwanis Farmers
Market on Saturday mornings from April through November at the City-owned
Winslow Street parking lot (corner of Winslow Street and Hamilton Street) pursuant to
a Revocable License Agreement; and
2. The Kiwanis Farmers Market vacated the Winslow Street parking lot
location after executing a First Amendment to the Revocable License Agreement
("Amendment") on May 22, 2013; and
3. The Amendment relocated the Farmer's Market site to the Intersection of
Arguello Street and Bradford Street, specifically Arguello Street extending from
Marshall Street to a point approximately 530 feet northwest toward Brewster Avenue,
and on Bradford Street from Arguello Street to a point approximately 150 feet
northeast (mid-block) toward Warren Street; and
4. Redwood City Municipal Code ("RCMC") Section 20.105(H) is the municipal
authority creating a no parking and tow-away zone sufficient to conduct the Farmer's
Market, which prohibits parking from 2:00 A.M. -- 3:00 P.M. on Saturdays, including
holidays, from April through November to allow vendors time to set up and conduct
the market; and
5. The proposed amendment to RCMC Section 20.105 will replace the
outdated Farmer's Market location at the Winslow Street parking lot with the new
location listed in the Amendment at the intersection of Arugello and Bradford Streets.
ATTY/ORD.409/FARMERS MARKET TOW AWAY ZONES
REV:04-15-15 MLG
