Under the Agreement, the County pays
Redwood City to provide vital safety net, homeless, and homelessness prevention
services to community members in need. Through the Information and Referral
program the City serves over 2000 unduplicated households each year. Services
include both direct assistance and referrals for food, housing assistance, utility
assistance, shelter, transportation, crisis intervention, advocacy, and other services as
needed to help families and individuals stabilize their situations and return to self-
sufficiency.

Council also approved an amendment to this agreement at its regular Council meeting
on April 7, 2014 which provided for a COLA Increase for each of the three years
covered by the original agreement.

ANALYSIS
The County of San Mateo would like to add a second amendment to the original
agreement to Core funding in the amount of $9,821 for Fiscal Year 2014-2015 and
Sustainability funding up to $33,437 for the term of the agreement.

ALTERNATIVES
Council could choose not to approve the amendment, and not accept the additional
funding from San Mateo County Human Services Agency for the Fair Oaks Community
Center Information and Referral Program.
7.1.A. - Page 1
