The project has been completed in accordance with the plans and specifications and for <br />a total cost of $528,674.00. Five change orders were issued due to unforeseen <br />conditions, additional work performed and adjustment of bid quantities. The total cost of <br />the change orders was $18,374.00 which is 3.6% of the original bid amount. <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />Council may choose not to accept the project or authorize the release of bonds and <br />retention which would be contrary to the terms of the contract, prior Council action, and <br />public contracting code. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds for the general work of this project were approved and appropriated in the Fiscal <br />Year 2013/14 budget as Water Fund Capital Projects – Water System Seismic Update <br />(686-74693-94-2031). Seventy five (75%) of the project’s construction cost will be <br />reimbursed by FEMA/Cal OES through the FY2012 Pre-Disaster Mitigation Competitive <br />Grant which has been accepted by City Council on September 9, 2013. <br /> <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />The project is categorically exempt.
