Provisians for maintainin�t6e Safetv Zone: The US Coast Guard r�guiations require a minimum safety zone of 560' away fram the launch site. Therefore,no watercraft will be permitted to anchor or remain in the deep water tuming basin during�e disglay. The City of Redwood City requests support from the Port to communicate with the Sea Scouts of the Pacific Skyline Council to provide ships if available to help define the safety perimeter and to keep water craft from entering the safety zone. The Sea Scout Boats must be moved from the Wharf 4 area to ensure the safety of the launch site and properiy,and will atso help in the enforcement of the safety zone for other boats. It is the City's understanding from previous fireworks shows that the Sea Scouts will have radio communic�tion and the ab�ity to issae verbal warnings to boaters in the area that is closed. In advance af the fueworks show,the Sea Scouts will position their ships as to close/block access to the turning basin and the safety zone. They will also monitor the airival of any craft that needs to transit the area ta ensure the craft wi11 cieaz the safety zone priar to the stazt of the show. The Sea Scouts are part of the emergency plan for the Coast Gvard and can prnvide additional communications aud on the water support capabilities. T'he City's Police Boat and Fire Boat will be in the water to patrol,provide assistance, and communicate with the Sea Scouts and Ceast Guard if necessary. In addition,no shore spectators wi11 be permitted in the industrial area near Whazf#4 and Wharf#5. The City requests that the Port natify a11 tenants,contractors,and vendors of the firework show and restrictions. The City also requests that an on-site contact from the Port is available to access areas as needed and to assist with the removal of any spectators that may have entered into any restricted area. Uae of the nnbiic access area of Seanort Coorb The City will provid+e uniformed private security personnel(12 confirmed with one supervisor on site),Police Cadets,CERT team members,and Police Officers to direct and monitor spectator activity in the public viewing area at Seaport Court. Personnet will atso have traffic control duties and general monitoring and response as necessary. The City requests that the Port help by providing the following in this area: 1. Lighting standards to be used for the safe exit after the show 2. Porta-Potties 3.
