The updated project schedule is:
Phase Schedule
Environmental 2014 – 2016
Design 2016 – 2019
Right-of-way 2017 – 2020
Construction 2020 – 2023

ALTERNATIVES
City Council may choose to not adopt a resolution of support for the US 101 –
Woodside Road (State Route 84) Interchange Project and direct staff to identify
alternative funding sources.

FISCAL IMPACT
The cost for the environmental, design, and right-of-way phases of the US 101 –
Woodside Road (State Route 84) Interchange Project is $46,000,000. If awarded,
roughly 50% of these phases of work will be funded by Measure A - Highway Program.

The City’s Gas Tax Construction Fund will be used to cover the increased
environmental and design costs for the project ($590,000); previous contributions to
these phases were made from the Transportation Impact Mitigation Fees Fund. No
additional funds from the Transportation Impact Mitigation Fees Fund may be used until
such point as the Fund’s nexus study is updated to include full project costs.

An additional $8.9 million in right-of-way costs will be provided by the City’s contribution
of its property adjacent to the interchange. Additional means need to be identified to
acquire the necessary right-of-way to fully implement the project.

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
As the lead agency, the City of Redwood City has determined that the actions
associated with applying for and accepting funding do not constitute a project pursuant
to the California Environmental Quality Act guidelines. Environmental review of the
project is ongoing.

JESSICA MANZI
SENIOR TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR

7.3.A. - Page 3
